Dr. Rebecca Villagomez

Biography

Dr. Villagomez graduated as valedictorian with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Guam (UOG) in 2005. She earned her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from UOG in 2007. In 2017, she completed her Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning, with a focus on instructional assessment and professional development, from Argosy University, Hawaii.

Dr. Villagomez has extensive experience in education, having served as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, instructional coach, and school administrator at both elementary and secondary levels. She played a key role in developing district standards-based assessments and curriculum documents for the Guam Department of Education (GDOE), including curriculum alignment, maps, guides, and sample lesson plans. As a DoDEA educator in Japan, she was selected as the Teacher Literacy Leader and was a member of the Instructional Leadership Team. In her roles as teacher leader, curriculum coordinator, and school administrator, she collaborated with leadership teams to revise and monitor school action plans and supported professional development at the school, district, and region levels. Her administrative experience spans positions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with her most recent role at Yokota High School. Each of these roles has contributed to her professional growth.

Dr. Villagomez credits her parents and husband as the most influential figures in her career. She cherishes family time with her husband and three children. She feels blessed and honored to continue her work with DoDEA in the Pacific East District, and she is excited to serve as the principal of Yokota West Elementary, working alongside its dedicated faculty, staff, students, parents, and community.
